When the “California Gurls” singer headed to the gym on Monday in Los Angeles, photographers caught a glimpse of the singer’s pimple-packed face.

Although Perry tried to cover her mug with a baseball cap and aviator sunglasses, she couldn’t hide the nasty breakout around her mouth and chin.

I’ve used Proactiv before and it’s an okay product, but as someone who has suffered breakouts all of my adult life, no product is going to completely cure acne. The best you can do is control it and minimize the kind of mass breakouts Perry has. What worked best for me? Daily cleansing, using a good astringent (I like witch hazel), using the right moisturizer, occasional facials, and using mineral makeup instead of regular liquid foundation. I found it was better than medication of any kind. Aging also worked wonders ;). A good zit zapper cream–not that nuclear powered Clearasil stuff–helps for the ones that crop up anyway.

sheesh, calm down. these may be scars from previous breakouts. it’s not like she is paid to advertise a quit smoking campaign.
