Angelina Jolie Gets a Twitter Account

Yes, it’s true! Angelina Jolie has joined Twitter, but it turns out the ‘Salt’ actress isn’t planning on Tweeting anytime soon. In fact, she’s locked her account — she isn’t allowing anyone to follow her and she isn’t following anyone else.

“Jolie had her people obtain the account for her so no one else could have that username. There was actually someone else using @AngelinaJolie but Angelina requested the account suspended and took it over.”

The source also said the actress might start Tweeting on the microblogging site “later this year. If she uses it, it will be for charity-related items or sharing links.”

Jolie would be one of the biggest Hollywood names to engage with Twitter if she actually does start sending 140-character messages in the future. She’d join the handful of other high profile stars Tweeting like Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
