Nightmare on Elm Street Writer to pen Ramones Biopic
I just read something that made me super giddy! There is going to be a Ramones BIOPIC! OMG!
Wesley Strick, the guy who wrote the crappy remake of Nightmare on Elm Street, has been hired by Fox Searchlight to write the screenplay. I hope he doesn’t butcher this like he did with my fave movie villain Freddy Kruger.
His apparent source material will be the memoir from deceased singer Joey Ramone’s brother Micky Leigh, entitled; ‘I Slept with Joey Ramone’.
I’m not too concerned with Strick screwing this up, after all, he did pen the screenplay for Cape Fear, and that was an AWESOME film. There are tons of rumors on who will be cast as the famous rockers, but no solid word yet.

One thing is for sure, whoever gets to play Joey, it most certainly won’t be pretty. That’s all I’m saying on that.
But don’t worry I’ll be all over this one like a fat kid on a Smartie.
I had the pleasure of spending some time at CBGB’s before they finally shut down in 2006. Let me tell ya, there is nothing like seeing a show at this legendary venue, I just wish I would have been able to watch Joey and the boys play in their natural habitat.
On that note, here’s a vid from 1979. The Ramones playing a benefit show at CBGB. Enjoy!
