Rumor has it that when Simon Cowell gives up his judging seat on “American Idol” next year, that he’s going to have Poison frontman Bret Michaels filling his seat.

When Simon moves over to “X-Factor”, a few celebrity names were thrown around as possible replacements. Rumors had surfaced that Howard Stern, Jamie Foxx and even Conan O’Brien were thought to replace the hard-hitting judge. But after Bret suffered an amazing recovery after a brain hemorrhage almost claimed his life in April, he is rumored to be stepping up to the judge’s seat.

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, though, says Bret. At a concert in Biloxi, Mississippi on Friday, Bret said, “I’ve got a little bitty hitch in my left giddy up, but I think we’ll be all right. It’s an awesome feeling, I’m glad to be here.” And as far as the Idol rumors are concerned, he added, “I can’t say this is true yet, ’cause I don’t know. Next year they asked me to possibly be the judge on ‘American Idol’.”

Think even Bret can save the failing franchise??? Or who would you rather see sitting next to Kara and Ellen?
