You know you’ve made it big in Tinsletown when you’ve been slimed at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

And this year’s recipient was none other than Kary Perry who was almost knocked over as she was hit by a box full of green gunge at the ceremony in Los Angeles yesterday.

The singer went up to the podium with actor Jonah Hill to present the award for Favorite Movie Actress. But as she walked over to open the box to announce Miley Cyrus as the winner, it exploded in her face, covering her from head to toe in network’s signature bright green gunge.

Perry said as she chased Miley Cyrus around the stage, threatening to share the goo with the teen actress/singer,

“I can’t see anything. Why does it taste like boogers?”

A lot of surprises tonight, with Twilight and Sparkly Pants being snubbed. Apparently, the kids prefer Taylor and Kristen together as well.

Justin Bieber’s live performance of the kiddie-pop “Baby” left teen girls throughout the auditorium screaming. Rihanna performed a medley of tunes clad in a vaguely militaristic pink-and-black gown while being pushed on a tiny pink tank. With backup dancers also rocking the odd combat vibe, it looked as if the cotton candy army had come to invade Disneyland.

First lady Michelle Obama received a Big Help award for her “Let’s Move” initiative, which aims to help curb childhood obesity.
