American Idol: Women’s Work Dominates Men’s Night
Michael Lynche took the mens night top praise with his performance of “A Woman’s Work.” After underestimating him, he brought a huge game to last night’s show. The now debonair Lynch wowed the crowd and each judge squealed with delight.
Randy Jackson – “That was HOT!” Randy literally squealed and I felt bromance brewing.
Ellen DeGeneres – “That was so beautiful! You are the one to beat now!” Ellen still hasn’t quite come out of her shell and you could tell she wanted to stand up and say “Boom goes the dynamite!”
Kara DioSTFUALREADY – “Me, me, me, ME!” Cranked out some fake tears.
Simon Cowell – “This was so needed tonight. You come out with an incredibly difficult song to sing and you 100% nailed it.”
Tim Urban surprised everyone with a cover of “Hallelujah” which was one of the best songs ever, that didn’t completely suck. Aside from pitch problems, it was one of his best performances…but that isn’t saying much.
Randy – “You did a pretty good.” You could tell he just felt bad for him and it came across as a soft reject.
Ellen – “You sounded so good.” E ran up and gave him a hug because this kid is pretty much going to end up being a high school music teacher.
Kara – Loads of crap fell out her mouth and I further felt bad for this kid.
Simon – “For you, it was terrific.” Translation – If this were the short bus version of Idol you’d be the winner.
Andrew Garcia may be going home. He can’t shake his pedestal performance of “Straight Up” and despite his version of Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle,” he was not well received by the judges.
Randy – “I like your cardigan.” That pretty much sums it up.
Ellen – “The genie came out of the bottle too late.” Agreed.
Kara – What Ellen said but in an hour long monologue.
Simon – “It was a little bit desperate.” I think this guy is a one trick pony. Good, but needs to find dimension.
