Taylor Swift Grammy Issues
Kanye West is giggling on Mount Douche. Taylor Swift has received a slew of negative feedback regarding her performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards. The tween queen sang a duet with Stevie Nicks and it wasn’t exactly her best work. Reportedly she rehearsed with the legend twice at the Staples Center before the live performance.
Swift won 4 accolades including the coveted “Album of the Year” award. However, many are asking WTF? when her competition clearly out-sang her when it came to show’s live performances. Critics weren’t easy on the teen. The critiques have lit a fire under Taylor’s Label Chief. Scott Borchetta launched a counter attack and blamed her vocally weak performance on technical issues. (It’s a bit long so grab a juice box and a snack.)
“The biggest message is (the critics) are not getting it,” Borchetta said. “Because the facts say she is the undisputed best communicator that we’ve got. When she says something, when she sings something, when she feels something, it affects more people than anybody else.
“Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it. … I think (the critics) are missing the whole voice of a generation that is happening right in front of them. … She’s an extraordinary songwriter and her vocal performances are getting better. Everybody is not perfect on any given day. If you pick any of those artists that performed (on the Grammy Awards) I’m sure you can go online and find something where you go, ‘ew.’ Maybe in that moment we didn’t have the best night. But in the same breath, maybe we did. And nobody is arguing with the awards.
“The critics are missing the bigger picture. This is what always happens and is the unfortunate part of the American dream, that we build these people up to watch the critics tear them down. Well, you better have more than what you’ve got now if you think you’re going to get in the ring and fight with us. So, get in the ring.”
What did you think of the performance?

[...] Taylor Swift Grammy Issues [AllieisWired] [...]
A person that I work with totally dislikes Taylor Swift and I am always defending her. Well didn’t I look like a fool after the grammies. She sounded horrible and sang over Stevie Nicks, making herself look even worse than she sounded (which was pretty bad.. can you find a key?)
TAYLOR SWIFT CAN’T SING!!!!!!!!!! SHE CAN’T CARRY A TUNE!! SHE IS TONE DEAF!! HER VOICE IS WEAK AND AIRY!! HER SONG WRITING ABILITY IS MEDIOCRE AT BEST!! SHE IS JUST AN AMATEUR MUSICIAN!! SHE SHOULD NEVER HAVE WON ANY AWARDS, ESPECIALLY A GRAMMY!!!! IT SEEMS TO ME THAT AWARDS SHOWS WILL SOON BE A THING OF THE PAST!! WE CAN ONLY HOPE!! THE GRAMMYS IN 2010 HAS PROVEN AWARDS SHOWS ARE COMPLETE CRAP!!
The only reason this girl is getting all this attention and SYMPATHY AWARDS is because of Kanye. She needs to send that dood some flowers and a thank you card. Seriously, i highly doubt if that MTV crap didn’t happen there’s no way in hell she’d be gettin all this attention. GTFOH
“voice of a generation”
“she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts”
it’s like Bob Dylan with tits….well she has none…ok with a vag.
I’m glad I’m not part of this generation
She’s not the best singer out there. The performance was definitely not her best (it hurt my ears!). But if we talk about someone who’s sincere about what she’s doing, I can say Taylor is one of those who really show it. You can feel it in the way she sings.

taylor is good. When she was starting out she was really good but now it really isn’t as great as before
