Thousands of Twimoms and tween girls are putting on their party pants because Taylor Lautner is now a free man. Shark Boy is back on the market!

Taylor Swift was wooing the “New Moon” break out star with the abs that make you want to beg for mercy. However, despite 3 months of G-rated lovin’ and supervised yogurt trips, the duo has split.

“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source close to Swift, 20, tells Us. “There was no chemistry. He liked her more than she liked him. He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”

Shall we prepare ourselves for another break up anthem brought forth by Swift? Nope. The source says that they are ending things on a mutual decision and plan to remain friends.

It’s too bad. It would have made this PR produced couple worth it if a song about how Lautner broke her heart after accidentally calling her Edward while in the heat of passion.
