Rihanna Gets Motto Tattoo – Photos

Rihanna has some new ink to add to her collection of tattoos. She’s added her motto, “Never a failure, always a lesson” etched onto a mirror image on her body.

The new tat is a bit more subtle than her previous gun and “Shhh…” finger art. She had it done at her favorite tattoo shop, East Side Ink, where Bang Bang had previously inked her.

He said, “She came in at about 2:00 A.M. She told me in advance she’d be coming, and then when she got there, she told me what she wanted: ‘Never a failure, always a lesson’, but written backwards. I asked her why she wanted that and she said, ‘It’s kind of my motto in life for everything.’ Instead of considering things to be mistakes, considering them lessons.”

She considers the body art personal, so she wanted it to be more subtle. He added, “She said that she wanted to do it in gray, rather than black, because she wanted it to be more subtle. She didn’t want it to draw too much attention.”

Of note is that this is the same tattoo parlor that got fined because she was there tattooing people without a license, back in September.

I think the tattoo is nicely done. And the message is equally beautiful. Very inspiring. It’s cool that she found a way to still keep it personal and not too obvious.

Agree, the message is very inspirational. You have to learn from every failure.
