‘New Moon’ Has 22 Mistakes & Counting!

If you were one of the first to see “New Moon” on November 20th, then you might have seen some of the blunders throughout the movie.

'New Moon' Has 22 Mistakes & Counting!

So far, fans of the growing franchise have pointed out roughly 22 errors in the film, and they’re just getting started.

Here’s what they’ve found:

Continuity: When Alice is driving Bella to the Volturi, she is wearing a headscarf and sunglasses. During the scene the way the headscarf is tied changes; the size and shape of the knot (and the colours on the knot) are different.

Continuity: In the last scene when Jacob confronts Edward and Bella. Edward’s hair is it’s usual poofed up, uncombed look but after Bella separates Jacob and Edward and Jacob runs off, when the camera is back on Edward, his hair is flat and neatly combed, then within a few seconds it’s back to its uncombed look.

More, after the jump!

I actually notice things like these, even if I’m not a big fan of a movie. Continuity mistakes are annoying.

I was too dazzled by a certain someone to notice silly details. It’s all good.

One big mistake I think is that in the books and in the Twighlight movie, Edward’s eyes are black when he hasn’t fed and then honey colored when he has gone hunting and fed but in New Moon we are under the impression that he hasn’t fed for a long while because he is gaunt and the circles under his eyes are very dark, like when he is “hungry”, yet his eyes are still honey color!

Same thing with Alice when she first sees Bella after her vision of Bella jumping off the cliff.

Dazed | December 1st, 2009

Always fun to spot. Maybe when I’ve got the dvd and the buzz has worn off.. after a few hundred viewing. I’ll only be replaying the first 10min and last 20 min anyway. :-)

The motor cycle scene shows Bella on the motorcycle and them just the is on the motorcycle for a split second and then Bella is back on with im. I caught that immediately. You can see the guys whole backside of his jacket.

anon | December 1st, 2009

Sorry i meant to say: then you can only see the guy on there cycle for a split second.

luckylady | December 1st, 2009

One mistake is listed twice. (scarf moving around)

Re Edward’s hair. It’s been written about how much Robert hates, hates touch ups between scenes.

The worst mistakes were in Twilight. Like when Bella doesn’t have her purse when she gets out of Edward’s car while going into the police station — after buying the book and next she is reading the book and on the computer.

Also, I read somewhere they made Bella’s hair straight and disheveled for this movie on purpose to reflect her lack of caring about anything.

twilighter | December 1st, 2009

really your going to pick out stupid little things if you hate the movie dont talk about it its as simple as that stop picking on s*** that doesnt matter true fans will stick by the movie no matter what

marren | December 1st, 2009

hmm.. yah there were mistakes.. no movie is perfect.. err..

the movie was good.. it will be great if they copied the book completely.. there were really lots of impositions..
furthermore, i like it..

Isabella R. | December 1st, 2009

No book adaption is going to be perfect. If you noticed these things when you watched it the first time, you shouldn’t have been there. It was probably boring you.

The mistakes don’t even matter. It’s the quality of the movie that counts, not errors.

Wow really talk about time.

jazz | December 2nd, 2009

So I was looking at photos when Jacob has his shirt off and there was not weird left nipple but in the movie… what is with that?

jazz | December 2nd, 2009

Sorry I ment Edward!

Retrovertigo | December 2nd, 2009

I love how Twi-hards are getting so het-up about some equally lame people pointing out continuity errors. Unless it’s blindingly obvious and annoying, pointing out the continuity errors is quite pathetic. It’s like “Ooooh, yeah, I’m sure it ruined so many people’s enjoyment of the film just because someone’s hair changed”. But on the other hand, if you like a film, why would you care if someone points out a few errors? It’s only a film. It’s not like they’ve deeply insulted your late grandma or anything. Chill out folks.

June | December 2nd, 2009

Yeah who ever noticed all those mistakes had to be bored with the movie and shouldn’t have went to the theater to see it! Besides, every movie has mistakes like that and I mean EVERY MOVIE!!

BiG JohNZuN | December 3rd, 2009

well speaking of boring lives….I give 3 shits about the movie, my life is WAY too exciting to sit in a theater for the crap hollywood has to offer these days…GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!!!!

Gina | December 3rd, 2009

OK. If you’re writing a post on here and going to complain about pointing out the errors, read this: 1) some people are more observant than others, 2) if you’re really upset, why did you click on this link and read it? and 3) if you say something isn’t worth commenting on… don’t comment on it.

New Moon was fairly well acted, but the directing lacked finesse. The director totally lost the romance of Twilight and made the film choppy. The vampires did look sicklier in this one, which was sad (unless you’re team Jacob, which I am not).

I noticed that the tattoo makeup on Sam’s (Chaske Spencer) arm was badly done. When he and the rest of the pack are at his house, he goes up to greet (I think they hugged and kissed) Emily and if look at his arm, you can see the skin around the black design puckering under the clear edges of the fake tattoo that was applied for the role. This happends all the time when people used fake tattoos, and I’m sure most people would recognize it if they looked for it (it jumped out at me from the screen) so I’m surprised that no one in editing spotted it, because its one of the closest, longest views of the wolf pack’s tattoo.

Whitney | December 6th, 2009

I don’t think that it really matters. I mean, a lot of movies make mistakes. Even if this movie has several errors in it, I think that is was great!

shazza | January 1st, 2010

don’t care about any mistakes…. love the movie xxxx

Sony | January 2nd, 2010

I never noticed any of these mistakes cos i was too busy laughing at the idiocy of the movie, anyways to those commentors above: dont leave your comment if you find this stupid or a waste of time cos you makin it obvious to everyone that you are those stupid twihard teen girl everyone talks badly about

Abi | April 1st, 2010

When Bella is lookig out the window after the cullens leave, there are trick-or-treaters in September…..

Lizzy | August 28th, 2010

I didnt notice anything here…im mean except the obvious…like the hair moving, and the scarves and books…but the other stuff doesnt seem to be true…I went back and checked…and in addition, the comment posted by Abi, the one on April 1st…well, if you actually looked…it says October, that wouldnt make sense for it to be September. Bella’s birthday is Sept. 13…the whole point of that scene is to show to months going by with her being depressed…and it wouldnt make sense to waste money to make the scene a few seconds longer when the month was half-passed already…Ok just wanted to tell ya guys :)

Bye <3

In response to jazz…
Jazz, I noticed that too, and thought nothing of it. But I looked it up and found out that Edward was apparently has a nipple deformation…never mentions it in the books or anything, but maybe they just added it on, and Stephanie probably had to agree to it…maybe, and I’m just thinking here…that maybe it had something to do with the Spanish Influenza Edward almost died from. (before he got bitten) but I assume not. But of course whatever happened Edwards Nipple does not make him anything less then what he is, amazingly hot. :)

Bye :)
Hope it helped!
