People who are real cutters hide it from others because they are ashamed and don’t want to be caught. If they are caught, they risk embarrasment and losing their only method of emotional release. People who expose their cutting have a totally different motive. They are not releasing emotional pain; they are not trying to feel physically because they can’t feel emotionally; they are seeking attention in a dramatic way. For a celebrity to do this, they are most likely trying to get public sympathy and/or get back in the public eye; just like the flood of non-alcoholic and non-drug abusing celebs who ran to rehab. Its a sick attention seeking trend. Look at Johnny Depp. He is a cutter, but it was years before he talked about it and his scars were covered. His example is real. With his prospering career he had nothing to gain from his story other than to try to help others. Lindsay should be ashamed of herself.

Okay comment #5. I can see it as a form of self-punishment. I could note certain Dx in which this is common, but will not since she is not in my care. People who self-mutilate as punishment are more prone to display their wounds because they want people to see they punished themselves because they feel worthless. They think about being beaten or humiliated just to self-comfort and sometimes just to be able to get to sleep. The bottom line is that the business and her horrible family all but ruined this young lady. I just hope that Dr. Phil the Quack doesn’t get his claws into her.

ok this stuff is all fake i hope you guys know that? she didnt cut herself you can clearly see stiches which would mean she would have cut deap enough to have to get stiches at a hospital and they would have put her in a phyc ward for that shit, and guys boasting about cutting yourself like its some good thing! its not, like you’ll have those scars for life like your kids and grand kids will look at ur arms and wrists and ask you wat the hell happened people get bullied about having cut marks and eventually kill themselves about it like relle your kids! grow up and stop cutting yourself stop being so insecure. people cut themselves because they are insecure and people put them down well grow some self respect and build up enough self esteam and realise the fact that yeah kids are making fun of you, but hay how else would they come up with the rude comments other then thinking about you. everywhere you go theirs gunna be people you dont like like honnestly guys when you go for job interviews and they see that you have scars they wont hire you, and if they see your scars while your on the job they can fire you on the spot, so all you people boasting about cutting need to shut up get a life and relise its not fucking cool nor will it ever be cool to cut yourself, it is stupid. my best friend used to cut, until one day by accedent she cut to deep in the wrong spot and hit a majour vein no one was home when she did it and four hours later her sister founf her dead on layin in a bed full of blood, people die from cutting, i lost my best friend becuase she wanted a way out and cutting relived some of her stress and the one day no one was home she died becasue of it. she lost her life and so did her unborn baby. does cutting sound so cool now? cuz it doesnt to me.

Cutting isn’t cool, it’s a disorder — something that should be treated. Lindsay is a cutter.
