In other news that doesn’t involve Tiger Woods being a man whore…

Summit Entertainment is sticking with vampires like a nicely placed stake through the heart. “The Hollywood Reporter” is reporting that Summit is staying with vampires but going in a slightly altered direction, picking up rights to “Vlad,” a screenplay by Charlie Hunnam that is referred to as a more action-oriented telling of Dracula as a young prince. Brad Pitt’s “Plan B” production company is also on board to produce, and negotiations are underway with music video director Anthony Mandler to direct.

The story of Vlad centers on a young Dracula who is known throughout history as Vlad the Impaler, the man behind the Dracula myth. Sources say the studio hopes to use the film to usher in new talent, similar to what they did for the cast of “Twilight.” I am very interested in seeing a really good movie based on the life of Vlad, hopefully this films pays off.
