Britney Spears’ Marriage Proposal Rejected

While we do love Australia and their craving for celebrity news, take this story with a grain of salt If you recall, an Australian media outlet (New Weekly) goofed when they reported Britney Spears was getting married the same time they reported Kristen Stewart was pregnant. Now the latest news to come out from down under is that Spears reportedly proposed to boyfriend Jason Trawick and has been turned down! Spears is said to have ‘gone down on her knees’ on Friday only to have Trawick say no, leaving her devastated.
“She is in love with the idea of marriage,” a source said. “She has been married only twice, but has proposed to many more.”
The rejection led Britney to make an impromptu address to fans at her final Sydney concert. Before introducing a song, Spears apparently said, “Have you ever really loved somebody? Have you ever really been hurt by somebody?” Trawick flew to Australia from LA two weeks ago to bring Spears’ two young sons over, but is now believed to have flown back to the US from Sydney after the proposal. He’s been credited with helping Spears with her comeback after her breakdown two years ago, and helped her break her various addictions to drugs and alcohol, but is not one to take marriage lightly.
Spears has described Trawick as her first true love and has told close family and friends how close the pair are, being able to talk for hours, which has left people confused on why he turned down the proposal and wondering where this leaves the relationship or if there is even a relationship left at all. Sources close to the couple describe Trawick as a man with both feet firmly planted on the ground, possibly as a result of his background in celebrity management.
