Britney Spears Is Hiding Out In Australia After Failed Gig

On November 6, 2009, Britney Spears brought the Circus down under to Australia. She was panned by a Perth paper down there for lip-syncing her performance.
Fans were said to have walked out of the show after only several songs, feeling jipped that she wasn’t singing live. They had also complained that she was just a tiny dot moving around on the stage and that the TV monitors were showing circus footage, instead of the live performance.
Now, Britney is holing up in her hotel room, avoiding the fans who paid hundreds to see her perform.
One fan, Amanda Hawlet, said, “I want my money back or I want her to sing properly. The ticket cost me $200 and she lip-synced the whole thing. It’s cost me half a week’s wage and you’ve got bills to pay, but you look forward to this concert, it’s a night out — and what do you get? Nothing. It was a waste of $200 - I could have got four pairs of shoes for that.”
Hello Amanda, it’s called Google. Please use it next time before shelling out that kind of money before going to a concert.
On November 7th, her manager, Adam Leber, posted this on Britney’s Twitter page:
Its unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn’t enjoy the show last night. Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did. - Adam

I saw the concert in September and of course there is lipsyncing….it’s Britney…she has always lipsynced why is it a problem now? I thought the concert was fun and with the exception of not getting a personal acknowledgement of the audience from Britney…like “Hello thanks for coming!” I was happy and thought I got what I paid for.

Duh, it’s Britney Spears. Everyone knows she’s the fakest faker who ever faked. I know Oz is down under, but it’s not under a rock. Again- duh! (P.S.- Madonna will be there next tour, just wait for her. She sings live AND still dances her a*s off, not just stomping around.)

I have seen a lot of concerts Madonna included and I was impressed with all of the back stage and behind the scenes work that is involved in putting a concert together and Britney’s show was great as well as a number of concerts I have enjoyed. To have them lip-sync through all or none of the concert is irrelevant to me!! Im there for the show!!

I dont understand why people spaz out over lip singing, I mean every star does it. You can not jump around on stage do all those moves and NOT sound breathless. Even the most fit people who are in the entertaining world who sing have to lip sing its commong knowlege psst even Beyonace lip sings ooooooooooooo

You’re all stupid for even going to the show. I’ve been a working musician for 30 years and would be embarrassed and ashamed to put on such a show, let alone charge people for it. I’ve seen plenty of dancers sing while performing, so there’s no excuse there. By the way, I really liked Britney’s first 2 records… She has no pride (or shame for that matter). Make her do her job (sing) or put it on the tickets and advertisements that there’ll be faked performances-just be honest. If most people don’t really care, then they’ll still attend the show, right? D!C!

Ummm, DUH! Its Britney. I’ve been to her last few tours over the last 9 or 10 years, and she has always lip synched. Its still alot of work to perform in a show of that magnitude. Its a SHOW, not so much a concert where the performer stands on a stage & sings/plays instruments - there IS a difference. The only performers that I’m aware of that can put on a dance performance/show AND sing live is Michael Jackson & Madonna. Its a rare skill. What actually stuns me is that some of you actually thought she would be singing live. Where have you been???
But for the record, in the Onyx Hotel Tour/2004, she did sing a live ballad & it was AWFUL! I don’t know what happened to her voice, but I think I could have sung it better than she did, it was painful to listen too & I was embarrassed for her. She actually SHOULD stick to lip syncing. LOL
