Kristen Stewart Learns to Love Rock & Roll

Kristen Stewart is photographed on the set of the Joan Jett biopic, “The Runaways.”
If you’ve read about “Runaways” gossip, you’ve seen the images of Joan Jett on the set with Kristen all the time.
However, Joan says that when actually watching Kristen and her fellow “New Moon” costar Dakota Fanning channel her and her ’70s girl group, it was an unusual experience.
“It’s really hard to put exact words on it beyond saying it’s surreal.”
The movie chronicles the band (The Runaways, 1975 - 1977) formed by teenage girls living near Hollywood, CA. The band ultimately succeeds on their own merits as musicians, becoming the first all-girl rock-band to ever break into the world of arena-filling hard rock acts.
To help Kristen prepare with her portrayal, the music legend provided tapes of her talking and singing at the age of 14, which Kristen studied diligently.
“I’m sure it was a strange pressure [on Kristen]. She was kind of intimidated by it, but by the same token she wanted me there.”
There’s not a strong resemblance, but Kristen Stewart still looks to be the perfect choice to portray the infamous Ms. Jett.
