Balloon Boy’s Richard Heene From Wife Swap (Video)
By Allie | October 15, 2009
A 6-year-old Colorado boy named Falcon Heene was thought to be accidentally carried away Thursday morning by an experimental aircraft that soared as high as 15,000 feet.
The balloon landed successfully and was found to be empty, Falcon Heene was not inside it. Police are investigating whether the boy may have fallen out before landing.
The incident started this morning in Fort Collins when the boy got into the balloon-like device, which was built by an adult, and it came loose from a tether, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Searchers are now backtracking the path of the balloon, in an attempt to find the missing boy.

Falcon Heene is the son of Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. His parents are storm chasers, and their chaotic parenting style was criticized by their “Wife Swap” swap family.
In the video below, you can see a rap remix featuring the Heene boys:
UPDATE: Falcon Heene was found hidden inside a box in the attic of the garage. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was some sort of publicity stunt by this family.

I watched this live today on some of the 24 hr. news networks. Everyone first thought that he had actually flown away with the balloon; thankfully, it looks like he just set it off and then got scared about being in trouble for it.
Even more bizarre, in one of the interviews with the family, the kid said something about how it was all done for some “show”. I will be following this story in the next couple days.
