‘Balloon Boy’ Falcon Heene Confirms Publicity Stunt – Video

If you were among the many people watching the news this afternoon with baited breath over Falcon Heene’s safety, then you were not alone.

UPDATE: Here’s the 911 call from Mayumi Heene, trying to explain that her son was in a “flying saucer”. Eventually, she hands off the phone to Richard Heene, who explains things in more detail to the operator.

'Balloon Boy' Falcon Heene Confirms Publicity Stunt - Video

The six-year-old was said to be in the flying balloon contraption made by his father, which soared over 40 miles in Colorado, this afternoon.

Yet, after the police hacked the balloon to pieces, they finally opened the compartment to find an empty space. Everyone was stunned, thinking that this poor kid fell out of the balloon when it was en route to its landing spot.

Remember earlier, when Allie said that she wouldn’t be surprised if it all turned out to be a publicity stunt? Well, it turns out, she was right on the money.

In the video below, CNN interviewed the Heene family, and you can see the father asking Falcon if he heard any of them calling his name. He replied, “Uh huh”, to which the father says, “You did? Why didn’t you come out?” Falcon tells the truth, saying, “You guys said that…we did this for the show.”

His father tries to cover it up by asking again, “You didn’t come out?” but it was already too late. Falcon spilled the beans. Game over.

Such a shame what people will put their kids up to just to get their 15 minutes.

UPDATE (Allie): Richard Heene, along with the rest of the family, was on Today this morning. During the interview, Falcon threw up in is father’s lap, while he was attempting to justify his son’s response to CNN.

The entire world stopped for several hours yesterday afternoon, for an obvious publicity stunt. Hopefully the police will continue their investigation and file a lawsuit.
