The 2009 Emmy Awards - Photos & Full Winners List
By Roberta | September 20, 2009
The 2009 Emmy Awards are upon us and Neil Patrick Harris is looking pretty dapper as our host for the evening. All of the ladies and gents in attendance were dressed to the nines, with a couple of exceptions. (January Jones, I’m looking at you…is that something Betty Draper would wear?)

“30 Rock” led tonight’s nominations with 22, followed by “Mad Men” with 16 nods. The highlights of the evening included Neil Patrick Harris taking over the broadcast as his alter ego Dr. Horrible, seeing Jon Hamm in a suit, and Sarah McLachlan’s wonderful tribute to the people that we lost in 2009.
Tina Fey and Don Draper Jon Hamm presented the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy. You can view Kristin Chenoweth’s acceptance speech, below:
Also, of note, was Neil Patrick Harris’ internet takeover, via the dirty deeds of Dr. Horrible:
Sarah McLachlan did a moving tribute to the fallen showbiz personalities of 2009. The montage honored Karl Malden, Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze, Natasha Richardson, Farrah Fawcett, and more. What a beautiful song and dress, she was immaculate.

The only part of the Emmy’s I enjoyed was Neil Patrick Harris. I must live under a rock or not watch enough TV (maybe I have a life) because many winners and shows were unrecognizable to me. I’m so grateful for DVR. At least I could forward through the zzzzzz portions of the program. Oh wait.. I did enjoy the tribute to those who passed away this year. That was very tastefully done.
