Spread The Word: The Shelter Pet Project

If you haven’t heard of The Shelter Pet Project as of yet, then listen up. There are people out there everyday who have pets yet they don’t take care of them or they do something to get themselves in trouble. Their pets are left to the shelters to be adopted…it’s a sad situation when a pet goes to a shelter due to the carelessness of their owners.

Spread The Word: The Shelter Pet Project

Every year, of the eight million dogs and cats that get put into animal shelters, three million of these healthy and treatable pets are euthanized. The Shelter Pet Project hopes to reverse this trend and find homes for the homeless and lovable pets out there.

This campaign, sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie’s Fund, and the Ad Council, hopes to get healthy, loving pets in the arms of people who can care for them. Otherwise they will meet an untimely end.

Increase the rate of shelter pet adoption in the U.S., by heading over to the Shelter Pet Project’s website and finding a pet to adopt. It’s so much better to adopt from a shelter and spread the word about the adoption resources that this website offers.

On the site, you can check out the Pet Personals and the Adopt-A-Grams to help get the word out. Help the animals out there who can’t help themselves.
