Ever since Ellen DeGeneres took Paula Abdul‘s vacant judging seat on ‘American Idol,’ the ousted Abdul has kept mum for the most part.

On the VH1 ‘Divas’ stage, however, she let it all hang out, sporting a token Ellen pantsuit and dancing it up just like the talk show host in a hysterical impression that was all in good fun.

Or was it?

This comes on the heels of rumors that Ellen DeGeneres is looking to shake up ‘American Idol.’ The talk-show host wants to make it a “kinder, gentler” show because Simon’s too harsh on contestants, and she’s willing to butt heads with him to have the last word. And here we thought Ellen was just going to dance through each episode.
