Oprah Sued for 1 Trillion Dollars

This sounds like a demand from Dr. Evil or a third grader.

A lawsuit has been filed against Oprah by Damon Lloyd Goffe. He claims that O stole his book and published it under the pretense it was her work. His demand for damages? Damon wants $1 trillion.

In the legal papers, Goffe says that “in April 2008 Oprah confessed to seizing original works of authorship” and published on the internet the first draft of his work ” A Tome of Poetry” under another title “Pieces of My Soul.”

Why one trillion? The legal documents (seen below) state that she sold over 650 million copies of the book at $20 per copy. If that were true, then the book would be the 3rd post popular book sold in all time. “The Bible” and “The Red Book” (think communism of Mao Tse-Tung) are the first two most distributed books ever. Also, if Oprah had sold 650 million copies of this book it would have outsold: “Jonathan Livingstone Seagull,” “The Exorcist,” “Jaws,” “God’s Little Acre,” “Catch-22,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Thorn Birds,” “Peyton Place,” “Gone With the Wind,” “Animal Farm,” “The Godfather,” “The Carepetbaggers” and “Catcher in the Rye” COMBINED. (According to the public library. Each of the above titles have sold at least 10 million copies.

Yeah, good luck with that Damon. When I need a break from reality I will have to come visit you in Land of the NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

I hope he wins every penny of the one trillion dollars because she pawns on the public lousy literature wrote by famous people, she thinks that are her friends like sidny poitier, knowing their books are GARBAGE.

Besides all the money showered on a lowly negro woman who can’t sing, can’t dance, and has no marketable talent, as a result of our civil rights movement, should have been used to help the ancestors of former slaves, instead of given to her to do nothing with but use it to pay rogue churches to attack other black performers with REAL talent. She has led an extremely immorale life, and she uses her position to destroy others’ who are doing nothing but sowing their wild oats as she OVER DID when she was young. No one tried to destroy her for sins of her youth.

What the hell is “jan” talking about? That has to be one of the most ignorant statements I’ve ever read on the Internet, and that covers a lot of ground.

I say we let this play out in court, if he can prove he is the original author then let him have the money. If he is trying to scam her for money, I hope he is thoroughly embarrassed in the public eye. Either way, suing someone for (in my best Dr. Evil voice) “ONE TREEELION DOLLARS” is hilarious.

does this smell like a publicity stunt or am i the only one who detects the foul stench of people who either have too much money or time on their hands? no one or no “thing” is worth 1 trillion dollars, not even the accepted true icons of word, music, paint, industry, research, yada-yada-yada. you could probably also list the values of the assorted governments of this planet amongst things or objects not worth said amount of cash.

except yours truly of course. ’cause according to my wife i’m either priceless or worthless, i forget which i am today.
