Billy Ray Cyrus Calls Miley Cyrus’ Stripper Pole Dance ‘Entertainment’
Since Miley Cyrus straddled a stripper pole at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, a small uproar of controversy has erupted. Many deemed the performance of her “Party in the USA” to be too sexy for her age and for the watching kids. Miley, no stranger to controversy and scandal, danced around a pole on a small ice cream truck during the performance and blew off the idea of the dance being inappropriate. Her father, “Achey Breaky Heart” crooner Billy Ray Cyrus, has fired back at the negative views.
“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing [and] songwriting. I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,” he says. “I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”
I never realized stripping was an art. I owe a dance named Delicious Deluxe an apology. What is it with these stage dads wanting to sell their daughters assets on the black market? Creepy Papa Joe Simpson would be proud. I am not one to doll out parenting advice seeing as I can’t keep sea monkeys alive, but encouraging your daughter to ‘shake what momma gave her’ isn’t what I’d call top notch dad material.

I thought her pole dance was sexy. I didn’t see anything wrong with it. Yeah she is only 16 but everyone needs to realize that she is growing up and shes not a little girl anymore.
