Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott (”Sid”) in the first three Scream films, has thrown a kink in the wheel of the forthcoming new trilogy.

Writer Kevin Williamson updated his Twitter account with some disheartening news.

“Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks.”

She’s too busy with other work? Yes, that’s it… way too many projects in the works.

While Neve was offered a cameo role, the new story was to follow a group of new teenagers. If Williamson’s plan was to have Sidney be the new killer, we’re far ahead of you buddy. That’s dumb anyways.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette are both still said to be returning.
