It’s the moment I have been dreading: my belief in celebrity relationships has been diminished.

I’m not kidding, I genuinely am really quite upset about news that Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to call it quits on their 3 and a half year marriage.

The pair who met on ITV’s ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’ and who have two children together have released a statement asking for privacy… something the duo know little about.

The couples relationship has been played out in the media; from the day they met on the Jungle reality series to the most recent series ‘Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter’ the pair have had little time alone, even selling their wedding and family photos to magazines in lucrative pay deals.

Maybe that’s where it all went wrong? Personally I think there’s a curse on couples doing reality TV shows:

Jessica and Nicks: Newlyweds
Michelle and Andy Scott Lee: Totally Scott Lee
Britney and Keven:Chaotic
Kerry Katona and Mark Croft: Crazy in Love

… the list goes on!

I never thought Katie and Peter would be added to that list!

Maybe superstition has nothing to do with it; maybe its Kate’s partying and drinking ways that got the better of Pete who is said to be behind the split. Pete has said before of Kate’s drinking:

” The devil gets inside her and she’s a nightmare. I trust her when she’s sober but I don’t trust her when she’s drinking.”

Or maybe it has something to do with Kate’s fame. Pete who found stadom in the nineties as a cheesy popstar has longed to get back in the spotlight but it is Kate who is more famous and internationally recognized.

If it was April I’d think this was some cruel April Fools joke – a ploy for media attention, sadly I don’t it’s the case.

Maybe they’ll film one last series ‘Katie and Peter: The Divorce.’
