About Cheryl “Gobby” Gibbs:
Having graduated university with a BA HONS degree in Journalism she quickly made her mark in the media industry by working for newspapers, magazines, radio and television.
Her first job in commercial radio was to co-host a woman’s chat show where she got to air her views everyday on “just about anything”. From celebrities to movies, to more serious and political issues Cheryl did what she does best – says it how it is.
A qualified journalist Cheryl worked as a News and Sport writer – notably covering the London airport terror attacks and the last Olympic Games.
Her fresh approach to presenting landed her with her own daily show ‘The Afternoon Shout’ on a UK commercial radio station where she gained the title Gobby Gibbs- you’ll understand why if you read her posts! Conducting daily ‘Celebwatch’ bulletins and weekly movie reviews Cheryl focused on her reputation as the being ‘the one in the know’ when it came to showbiz.
Her ‘girl next door’ nature led to her broadcasting from some rather ‘usual’ situations including conducting an outside broadcast at the top of a double decker MOVING bus as it toured the city of Portsmouth! – Fun!
This then led to her being the first Video Journalist to work for Microsoft MSN UK. Writing, producing and presenting videos on an array of subjects (predominantly Entertainment) gave her the chance at being in front of the camera – something that she cant help but love doing!
She has since gone on to do a number of TV and radio projects and continues to combine her two loves –presenting and entertainment – by writing daily for Allie is Wired.
Cheryl writes on UK showbiz scene and will present a weekly Friday podcast- rounding up the hottest celebrity news in the US and UK.
