Britney Spears is Moving to New Jersey

As if New Jersey needed more to boast about than holding the honor of being the largest chemical producer in the nation, the Garden State will soon be able to claim Britney Spears as a resident.

Yes, the pop superstar will soon move to the state that boasts the most diners in the world, as well as the most toxic waste dumps in the nation.

According to Life and Style magazine, the star will stay at a rented home in Alpine during the east coast leg of her “Circus” tour. The stay will last a month and won’t even cost Spears a red cent – Jive records is footing the whole $30,000 bill.

“She wanted a home away from home, especially for the boys – something close to Manhattan. They talked about Long Island, but she wanted something closer that could feel like home for Sean and Jayden.”

Um, New Jersey?

New Jersey is where the first electric guitar was built (Les Paul), where the light bulb, phonograph and first motion picture camera were invented. New Jersey is the top producer of tomatoes, blueberries, cranberries. It has the highest median income in the nation, and the densest population in the nation. 80% of our imports come through the state, the first baseball game and first college football game were played in it’s bounds. It houses both “New York” football teams and the bulk of the players. The first radio station and drive-in were built in NJ. Hundreds of celebrities, historical figures, artists and generals have called New Jersey home at a point, including Walt Whitman, Norman Schwarzkopf, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Robert Blake, and the obvious Bruce Springsteen and all members of Bon Jovi. Without NJ’s oil refineries, you would never be able to afford gas prices. And speaking of, New Jerseyans don’t pump their own gas!

So next time you go hating on New Jersey, stop and think about the fact that you’re not privileged enough to actually KNOW about New Jersey. Britney knows what’s up.
