American Idol Top 13
By Cara | March 6, 2009
Yes, I know. “Silly Cara. It’s American Idol Top 12. Now put the Kashi and vodka big gulp down and focus.”
Actually, this season it is 13. In attempt to spice things up for an otherwise predictable show, a wild card round was introduced this year. Personally I like it. The result shows are actually more interesting than the performances this year. (Save for a select few contestants.)
So the final 8 contestants sang their little hearts out for a chance at the last 3 spots. Jasmine Murray and Megan Joy Corkrey were let in first. Then in a dramatic moment Matt Giraud scored what he thought was the final spot. Simon then announced that Anoop Desai, who sang “My Prerogative” again, would be lucky #13. They will all join Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nuñez and Lil Rounds.
The biggest joy came when Paula Abdul finally smote the uppity evil of Tatiana Del Toro as she begged at the Judges table for a chance after she sang a song for the THIRD time on the show. “Saving All My Love for You” is done and over with. Thank you sweet baby Jesus.
My predictions? Don’t underestimate the power of the adorable blind guy, Scott MacIntyre, who puts his sympathy votes against Danny Gokey’s lost wife. Both can sing while pulling at your heart strings, but Lil Rounds and Allison Iraheta are both forces to be reckoned with.

Sadly, this is the least exciting group yet.
They must have tapped out the talent of the entire country over the years.
Where are the great singers?
Tatiana actually can sing, but she couldn’t be quiet long enough to listen to the judges last night, or ever.
So glad she’s gone.
Her selfishness was such a turn off, everyone else up there had the same dream.
