Celebrities Talk About Chris Brown and Rihanna

Over the weekend, Chris Brown released a statement that he is “seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones” after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, Rihanna in Los Angeles February 8th.

Here’s what the celebs had to say:

CARRIE UNDERWOOD
“I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice because, thank goodness, I’ve never been in any kind of abusive situation. You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first.”

JAY-Z
“This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”

KELLIE PICKLER
“I think the world would be a better place if people worried more about what they needed to do to be better people, than … judging others on what kind of people they are. I don’t know what really went on with Rihanna and Chris, and I dont think anyone else does, either. The only people who really, truly know are only the two of them, so I am not going to assume or comment. I’m going to mind my own business.”

HEIDI MONTAG
“I don’t know what happened there, but our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them. Its such a crazy situation. I hope everything heals. I don’t know what to say.”

UGLY BETTY’S MARK INDELICATO
“I don’t really know that much about it. I think that doing that to a woman is wrong in any way. It doesn’t matter who did it to you. But, you know, I don’t know that much about it, so I can’t really comment too much on it.”

LINDSAY LOHAN
“I have no comment on that. That’s not my relationship. I have no reason to speak about it. I think they’re both great people.” (wow damn)

LUPE FIASCO
“They are great live and both are good people. It’s a tragedy.”

MOLLY SIMS
“It’s so sad. I don’t think anybody knows the whole truth, but I guess the truth really doesn’t matter when [abuse] is the result. That should never happen, no matter what. And I love his music. That being said, I think [about] Rihanna : No girl, no woman, no mother, no sister, no friend, no one deserves that. Absolutely.”

NIA LONG
“I know both of them well. They’re young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point.”

RUBEN
“I’m still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to say about everything, and I always try to be positive. They’ve both made wonderful careers for themselves, and I think they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.”

MARY J. BLIGE
“They’re both young and beautiful people, and that’s it.”

MARK CURRY
“Women, throughout history, have been beaten and prostituted. Even today in movies and music, they’re portrayed as low-grade, so you know, he’s a youngster, and he can correct his ways. It’s just a tragedy – women and abuse.”

And… Rosanne Barr BLASTS Chris Brown:

“chris brown’s lies and excuses make me want to beat the crap out of him…he uses the language of the perpetrator just like every sleazy bastard who ever smacked his wife, kid, mother or girlfriend around uses. you dirty bastard, I hope you go to prison for ten years. IT’S YOUR FAULT, ASSHOLE! as for all the mealy mouthed hollywood and music scene chicks that can’t bring themselves to condemn a misogynistic bully, let me say this: your time as whores for propaganda is ending, bitches.”

well i think all the celebs were right to not put their mouth on the situation without knowing all the details, as for rosanne barr that crack head need to shut up where she been in a halfway house no one even know who she is anymore she all old and wringkly watever rosanne we can tell you have been beatn to death an you should have with that ragedy mouth of yours. its ok we understand you needed a little exposure so you said something negative without know what really happened, if he hit her yes he is wrong but if she hit him then i would say she got what she deserve but she should have expected him to react. men shouldnt hit women but women shouldnt hit men either its vice versa. But anyways chris i love you nomatter what. People know the facts before you judge but at the sametime you cant judge him only God can. He’s human an he will make mistakes an roseann barr belowed herself by sayn what she said she made herself look dumb and ignorent.

People are too easy, way too easy, on Chris Brown. All these celebrities and only Roseanne Barr has the balls to say what she’s thinking. All the others are wishy washy. Chris Brown, especially after making that “statement,” has shown he is a gutless punk.

@tanisha

Why would he apologize if he hadn’t done anything wrong? He’s guilty and no amount of chicken head support is going to help him. Hopefully, one day you grow up as will Chris.

kind of wish that whatever the situation was that night, they could have solved it in a manner that was non-violent and private. People look up to celebrities all of the time and think that their lives free of worry and problems because they have millions of dollars. I am a mother of a 14 year old son, who happens to love Jay-Z’s music. With this being said, many youths listen to artists speaking up against violence and other topics, as well as view them as role models. To have Jay-Z make an official, live, public threat against Chris Brown is entirely immature, inexcusable, intolerable, and classless. First of all he has a wife and should not be that heavily emotional about Rihanna to the point where he is threatening the life of Chris Brown. What is really going on with that? As he stated, Rihanna is “real young”. Well, Chris is a year younger. What does that indicate? It indicates that Jay-Z is way too old to threaten the life of a 19 year old boy. Instead, he should be showing young boys that resorting to violence is not the answer. After all, isn’t “violence” the main reason that he is so upset now? Its contradicting to hear him react about violence, but in the same sentence release a statement about having harm done to a youth. I understand his concern for Rihanna and understand clearly how he conveys that the public should show some compassion. What I am simply stating is that Jay-Z and others, should not cast stones or make threats without gaining an “complete” understanding of the situation(hearing both sides).__

Peach36 | February 19th, 2009

What Jay-Z and others fails to understand is that Chris is also an innocent victim. Innocent in a sense that he has suffered in domestic violence in his childhood as well. If it is a fact that he have inflicted any form of violence on Rihanna, then people need to show some compassion for him as well as Rihanna,. They both need love and support, especially Chris, so that he could seek guidance instead of people making him stressed or upset. For anyone to state that Chris Brown is a hypocrite for claiming that he would never hit a female on the Tyra Banks show and actually expected him to live up to that principle, is confused. With past abuse victims, no one “mean” or want to hurt any body. It may be a biopsychological reaction from what most children of domestic violence present in their unconscious when conflicts escalate or unexpectedly arises. I am in no way pardoning domestic violence because I, too, have been a short- term victim of child and domestic violence(from age 20-24). I was lucky enough to get away. I also know that domestic violence victims can be males and females, therefore violence is violence and no one should has a right, regardless of sex to inflict violence. The only thing is we do not have nor know any clear facts at this point. Atleast hear what really happened first. You never know what happened. I like both Chris Brown and Rihanna and will continue to support them both. I sincerely hope that one day they could work on forgiveness, if nothing else.

I think all of the celeb’s (specifically Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler) were just tip toeing over this whole situation and careful with their words as to not offend anyone. Well, now the pictures are out- and yes, we may not know what happened that night between them as far as what started the arguement to escalate- but no matter what it was, NO PERSON DESERVES THIS! Male, female- it doesn’t matter. At least Rosanne Barr was not afraid to have a god damn meaningful opinion. I feel horrible for both of them that this is publicized, but WAKE UP PEOPLE- this is happening everywhere- and it’s not “ridiculous” Carrie Underwood- it’s reality, and now maybe women can will be able to look to Rhianna as inspiration to have strength to leave an unhealthy situation.

Domestic abuse is everywhere it is not a secret any more man as well as women commits these crimes. From the 1st blow you should be out of that type of relationship GONE but as many of you may know by now Rihanna and Chris brown are back 2gether. Do I agree no, apparently, she did not look in the mirror after the incident acured ‘cause she didn’t waste any time going back to her abuser? I think it is F*** up that her own father would state that he supports her decision 2 go back 2 him after what accrued, that in its self says a lot about some of the people around her. As for Mr. Brown Will he do it again I don’t know, I hope not; even though I don’t agree with Rihanna going back 2 Chris she could have at least spent more time away from him before jumping back in 2 his arms, that itself says a whole lot, she must believe being with him will help him change. You can tell she is in denial about the abuse as well she blames herself for all that has accrued. I do not care what the reason was that Chris felt he should have done that I really do not; it should have never acured at all. I pray that both 2gether or apart they get everything 2gether ‘cause hey man guess she feels she stay out the picture someone else will take her place sooner or later it’s her or no body. That’s all a can say
