Wired Music: Lily Allen Covers ‘Straight To Hell’ By The Clash

Lily Allen took part in the War Child collaboration album, which saw 15 artists taking classic songs and covering them to benefit children in war zones.

Have a listen to the cover and let me know what you think. I like it and think it was a very fitting track for Lily to sing. She brings a certain modernization to the song.

Here’s the original song by The Clash, for comparison:

I like Lily’s version much better, but then again, I was never a big fan of The Clash.

In other Lily Allen news, she’s reportedly dealing with a lot of self-doubt and other issues. She says that she’s convinced that people will find her out for what she is, “a fraud”.

She says, “I’m convinced I’m not talented at all, and I’m sure people are just about to figure it out. I’m not very good, am I? I don’t think what I do is any good. I think I’m awful. I’m not a musician. I don’t play an instrument. I write nursery rhymes.”

A 100 innocent little mink had to have their neck broken so she could look this riduculous.
That is really sad.

It makes me sad that Lily would feel so insecure about herself. I love her voice, it’s beautiful and I’m sure many many others would agree with me. Though I do enjoy her songs now, I do think that she has the ability to write songs that’ll sincerly touch people. She has the ability to make beautiful songs and one day, I hope she makes a song that’ll be forever imprinted into music history as a classic timeless hit. I for sure, will buy it. I’m cheering you on!
