In case you missed the American Idol season 8 premiere, we were “treated” to the likes of “Bikini Girl” Katrina Darrell. She sang Mariah Carey’s “Vision Of Love”, but that’s not what got her through to Hollywood.

Now close your eyes and listen to her sing it again. Good enough for Hollywood, really?

She had the right idea to come in there and strut her stuff in a bikini to get attention. It would’ve worked better if she was more of a talented singer.

The new judge, Kara DioGuardi seemed a bit jealous, though. She acted like a little girl in a competition. Is this Kara Idol? No. Sit down and shut up, you could’ve talked Paula into not sending her through, especially when she dissed you.

On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday, Kara defended her comments, saying, “To her credit, she’s gotten so much attention. It was probably a good call to wear the bikini at the end of the day. But we wouldn’t be talking about the bikini if she killed the song.”
