Wired Music: Sienna Miller Stars in The Hours’ ‘See the Light’

Sienna Miller dropped her vanity for a low-profile gig in a new video for indie English band The Hours. The actress played a mental patient who rampaged through a Prada store before begging an off-camera doctor for some help:

“Break open my head then and fix it. I just feel panicked and sick and full of dread. It’s about time I faced the truth. Somewhere within all of the darkness there is light and I need to find it.”

The seven-minute-long video “See the Light” was directed by notoriously-difficult auteur Tony Kaye, who previously directed Edward Norton in “American History X.” Controversial artist Damien Hirst provided art direction, evident in a scene in which Sienna’s character encountered several disemboweled cows. Damien faced serious criticism in the 90’s when he bisected and pickled a cow and a calf for a piece he titled Mother and Child Divided.

Through their Myspace blog, The Hours claimed “See the Light” will be the title track from the upcoming EP, although they did not give an official release date.
