So what have you ever done for your country? At least these woman are trying to do something worthwhile. You should be ashamed of making fun of them.

And how many homeless were taken off the street because her holiness held up a sign? Somewhere in the range of 0 to -1.

Don’t confuse this with “doing something,” it’s not.

If all these D list celebs would take a homeless person home with them, that might do something about the homeless.

The homeless wouldn’t be homeless anymore and Ileana, Janeane and Cheri would have someone passed out in their living room to remind them of their sacrifice. But they don’t want to do that and the homeless don’t want to go with them.

It’s like everything in Hollywood. If it’s not designed to promote someone, then it’s an accident. This doesn’t show any signs of being accidental.

Ash, are there two “Janeanes?” Because Janeane Garofalo is a beast from the lagoon, dumb as a brick, funny as a heart attack, and obnoxious.

At least these woman [sic] are trying to do something worthwhile.

The only worthwhile thing they could possibly do is kill themselves.

Yeah, because I’m sure all homeless people want is to be filmed.

Some people just like being left alone, folks.

Tarbo @ 4 – That’s about the dumbest statement I’ve heard this year. Are you implying that these women do something for their country? Celebrities do nothing for the country. Thanks for Mystery Men, Janeane. Thanks for SNL, Cheri. Thanks for ???, Illeana. Blech.

You want a list of folks who have done or are doing something for their country? Here’s a small list:
U.S. Navy MA2 Michael Monsoor
USMC Cpl. Jason Dunham
U.S. Army PFC Ross McGinnis
U.S. Army SFC Paul Smith
U.S. Navy Lt. Michael Murphy
U.S. Army 1st Lt. Ashley Henderson Huff
U.S. Army Sgt. Gregory Ruske
USMC Cpl. Jeff Boskovitch

Feel free to Google these names and see if their sacrifices are a little more than holding up some snarky sign at a coffee shop.
Holding up a sign about photographing the homeless is not doing something worthwhile. Especially when all of these women have more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes. Janeane is certainly not sharing any of the money she took from Air America with any of the folks she laid off when that network tanked.

Their reward should be no more publicity, no more money, personal shame, and disgust by the community. Unfortunately, in the real world we get people like Tarbo who are impressed by empty statements, and who think their own farts smell good.

What a trio of pompous twats.

how about: they already KNOW they are going to be photographed so it might as well be used to make a public service announcement.

gotta agree with mike folks. i’d also like to submit that I think the idea is that instead of being obsessed with the concept of celebrity, we should instead turn our attention and efforts toward a nationwide problem that is only more noticeable in these increasingly difficult times. i agree with that statement.

I kinda get where they are going for.
There is SO much human effort wasted by the snappy paparazzi, vapid websites like this, and countless dullards idolizing and fawning over pictures of ‘celebraties’ in their private lives.

And yes, I do recognize the irony of spending 5 minuets writing a post about the stupidity of idol worship on a stupid celebrity website frequented by the great unwashed masses.
