‘Footloose’ Rushed Into Production
By Karen | October 28, 2008
Brace yourselves. Here comes yet another Hollywood remake of a classic movie. Zac Efron, fresh from his $42 million opening of ‘High School Musical 3’, is slipping into his dancing shoes for ‘Footloose’. The 1984 hit ‘Footloose’ staring Kevin Bacon will be altered to appeal to an older audience than ‘HSM3’. Zac will be pulling in seven figures and has script approval.
No other major cast members have been announced. The big question seems to be will
Kenny Loggins title song get a prominent place on the soundtrack. A lot of good music came out of this movie: “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” “Almost Paradise” and “Holding Out for a Hero.” Hopefully they won’t screw that up.
After seeing what ‘HSM3’ pulled in it is no wonder that they are rushing into production on this remake. It is just a bit sad that the script writers and producers can not come up with an original idea of their own.
