Tony Romo Super Hero

By Karen | September 12, 2008

All Tony Romo needs is a cape. Tony already has the shiny spandex. He is not only a hero on the football field but to Bill and Sharon White too. The White’s found themselves stranded on the road with a flat tire. The Irving, Texas couple were struggling with the tire when Tony pulls up.

“All of a sudden I hear a voice say, ‘Do you need help?’” Sharon, 53, tells.

Not realizing it was Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend who had come to the rescue. The football star, just off a flight, offered to help. After playing with the air compressor switch on the car jack, they got the tire inflated.

“At that point, I looked at him and thought, ‘Dang, he looks familiar,’” Sharon says. “I go, ‘You know what? You look like Tony Romo.’ He looked down and just gave me that boyish smile he’s got. Then he said, ‘That’s because I am.’”

“I just screamed as loud as I could,” Sharon says. “Then I grabbed him and hugged him.”

Bill White had missed the Dallas-Cleveland game while on the road wanted to know what happened to Tony’s chin. But quickly stopped Tony when he started to explain.

“I stopped him and said, ‘Don’t tell me! I don’t want to know!” says Bill, who had recorded the game at home.

After having saved the day Tony got in his car and drove off. That was when the star struck Whites realized that they had forgotten to thank Tony. But the Whites want Tony to know if they had the chance:

“I’d thank [Tony] so much for stopping,” Sharon says. “I love him to death, he’s a great guy. And I hope I didn’t bust his eardrum!”

It is great to write something positive about a celebrity for a change. This story is close to my heart because this how I met my husband, he changed a tire for me. He literally changed my tire…not like that. Dirty minds!
