Shia LaBeouf Slips Out of DUI Charge
Shia LaBeouf won’t be charged with DUI charges for the car accident that crushed his left had July 27. At least that is the verdict from the LA County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
“After reviewing the case, we’ve declined to file any charges due to insufficient evidence,” says DA spokeswoman Jane Robison.
The 22 year old star of ‘Transformers’ star was cited with misdemeanor DUI while he was still in the hospital. But the charges werre dropped for lack of sufficent evidence. The other driver was found to have run a red light will be charged instead.
“We’re very happy with the prosecutor’s decision, and we’re glad this whole thing resolved without Shia having to go to court,” says LaBeouf’s attorney Michael Norris.
Even though the DA rejected the case against LaBeouf, he is still facing a DMV hearing Friday. Shia also faces a possible suspension of his driver’s license for refusing to take a blood alcohol test. Shia could lose his license for six to nine months. Hey you drink and drive you pay the price. He did do one smart thing, by refusing the blood test the police couldn’t charge him with a DUI. The most they can do is suspend his license. Sneaky, but smart.
Shia was still in a white protective guard on his hand at the premiere of his new movie ‘Eagle Eye’ on Sept 16th. Shia still needs surgery on his hand yet. Hey I think he got off easy there is no excuse to become a drunk driver.
