Madonna Dedicates ‘Like a Virgin’ to Pope
By Cara | September 8, 2008
Madge is prancing around the world on her ‘Sticky & Sweet ’ tour in her best fishnets and combination leather and lycra shorts. It must be great to be her. You get the best fans, all the licorice you can eat and you are even more powerful than the Pope.
On Saturday the trouble making Madonna dedicated one of her classic songs to the Catholic equivalent to Tom Cruise. After getting the crowd in a lets-all-clap-our-hands-until-I-think-of-something-to-do moment, she decided to bust out the classics. “I dedicate this song to the Pope, because I’m a child of God. All of you are also children of God.” Her song “Like a Virgin” then started playing. After her concert in Rome she went on a pilgrimage and visited a church for over an hour. She hit up the basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme and meditated. Praying for forgiveness….or more licorice…who knows.
