Brad Pitt Gay Marriage Savior

Brad Pitt got his allowance this month and did something useful with it. This time it has nothing to do with starving orphans in some dusty country. (I really do feel bad for the starving orphans.)

California is fighting a ban on gay marriage. Again. Haven’t we gone through this shiz like 12 times? Proposition 8 will put the kibosh on same sex marriage and even make those marriages that have already taken place null and void. For instance, Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi’s recent nuptials will be no longer legal.

Chad Griffin, a political savy strategist, is fighting the proposition to nix gay marriage which will be on the November ballot. So far thousands of dollars have poured in to fight the injustice. A Democratic billionaire by the name of Ron Burkle will be throwing a fundraiser to create more awareness while developing funds. Brad Pitt donated $100,000 to the cause and made a statement to support the movement being called “No On Prop 8.”

“Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8.”

While the temptation to get on my soap box and speak of gay rights and how wonderful and deserving the gay community is…they already know it. So instead I will put my thoughts were it counts. To find out more or help fight the ban on gay marriage go to www.noonprop8.com

What Others Said:

Dlisted- “Come on, Tommy Girl! Step it up! And by “step it up” I don’t mean get higher lifts.”

Evil Beat Gossip- “Californians, get your asses to the polls and vote AGAINST this hateful BULLSHIT.”

“don’t be biased” ?? LOL! This is a blog, not the NYTimes. Get real.

I’d find Brad a little more sincere if he said he and Angelina got their wedding rings from loveandpride or a company that donates to gay right organizations!

But I still think this is amazing haha.

Brad and Angelina have vowed not to marry until gay couples can legally marry across the entire USA. I think that this demonstrates quite a degree of commitment to the cause!
