Wired Music: ‘Chinese Democracy’ Soon-to-be Released?
By Alyk | August 25, 2008

Hot on the heels of rumors of the imminent Wal-Mart exclusive release, another track from Guns n’ Roses long-delayed disc Chinese Democracy leaked onto the internet. The track, “Shackler’s Revenge,” will appear on the soundtrack for “Rock Band 2,” due in stores September 14.
With the official release of the track, many concluded that the release of Chinese Democracy couldn’t be far behind—despite the fact that most fans gave up on the disc years ago. Frontman Axl Rose and his band of hired hands started working on GnR’s fourteenth studio album in 1999, but pushed back the release date several times. As Axl nit-picked tracks, the band launched the laughable “Chinese Democracy World Tour” in support of the album, performing in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Despite the build-up, the leaked tracks from Chinese Democracy met an unenthusiastic response from fans. The newest track is no exception. The hard-on-the-ears “Shackler’s Revenge” is the YouTube clip below, and if it’s any indication of what we can expect from the disc, I’ll pass.
