Roberto Cavalli Hates Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell

Roberto Cavalli is a man after my own heart. Roberto gives a shot to some of the top models in the world. The 68 year old designer criticizes Kate Moss claiming that he doesn’t believe that she “has what it takes to be a true star.” The delightful Roberto tells that he would much rather work with “artists” like Diddy instead of walking clothes hangers.

‘For me, models are just pieces of wood that I carve to make clothes look beautiful,” he says. “There are thousands of models like all other models. Naomi Campbell is the same way.”

What is it about drugged out stick women that makes them such highly paid models? Kate Moss has been named by Forbes as number 2 on their list of the world’s fifteen top-earning models. And Kate’s clothing line in pulling about $40 million since its 2007 launch.

Naomi Campbell is no slouch herself. She plowed over racial barriers as the first black model to appear on the covers of both British and French Vogue and Time magazines. Don’t think I forgot that pitching arm of hers either.

So sorry Roberto, I would love to be on your side, but if Kate is lacking star power why is she featured in this season’s Just Cavalli ad campaign? And what is with the “carving” of the models? That is just creepy!
