Michael Phelps Wins His 11th Gold Medal
By Allie | August 13, 2008
Congratulations to the U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps!

Not only did he win his 10th gold in the 200-meter men’s butterfly on Wednesday, but Michael Phelps also won his 11th gold, along with his teammates in the 800-meter freestyle relay. Not only that, but Phelps and his teammates set a new world record!
This is Michael’s 5th gold medal at these games. He’s just 3 more away from breaking the old record of most golds one in one games, set by swimmer Mark Spitz almost 40 years ago.
Phelps is now one of the most decorated Olympians of all time.
With 11 total (and more to possibly come), Michael has more Olympic gold medals than anyone else in history.
