Kate Hudson Sued for Hair Fraud

By Karen | August 26, 2008

Finally a story about Kate Hudson that is not about that revolving door she uses in her bedroom. But it is not a fun story either she is being sued. Kate may have made her new hair-care line eco-friendly but messed up on the scientist-friendly.

“Kate and her attorneys are only just learning of the complaint, as Kate has not yet been served,” publicist Brad Cafarelli told E! News Monday. “Kate does not know the plaintiffs and has never met with them or spoken with them. Her representatives believe that the claims are baseless and without merit and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit.”

According to the scientists who claim to discovered and made the Wildaid lines secret ingredient with no cash to show for it. Kate and her hair guru Barbaii have had 17 causes of action filed against them. Ouch! They include fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract and pile of other allegations.

The lab claims they had an oral contract with Kate and Babaii but they opted to take the secret ingredient last and scoot on over to a competitor who agreed to go cheaper than 220 Laboratories. Hudson & Co even used packaging that was a little too similar to the original idea of 220 laboratories. The plaintiffs want compensatory and punitive damages plus interest!

The secret ingredient that everyone keeps going on about is volcano ash! I know! Ick. Who wants to wash their hair in an ash tray? Meanwhile Kate and her legal team claim are just learning about this. Kate proves she really is Goldie Hawn’s daughter by just saying “What?”
