Sharon Stone $1Billion Lawsuit
By Karen | July 31, 2008
Sharon Stone is hip deep in Chinese trouble. More than a thousand Chinese earthquake victims and one sleazy New York lawyer are suing her for $1 billion yes billion with a B or maybe she could just apologize yet again.
The star of “Basic Instinct” was served legal papers that showed Ming Hai intention to sue her. He claims that Stone intended to harm the Chinese people when she stupidly commented during the Cannes Film Festival that last May’s earthquake was “Karma” for the Chinese government’s occupation of Tibet. Which was really not cool as nearly 70,000 people were victims.
“For the families who have lost their loved ones or lost limbs or suffered severe injuries, your … statement and act has caused extreme emotional distress,” Ming wrote, citing the controversial comments Stone made at the Cannes Film Festival.
Just last month in a public apology Stone 50, said that she “misspoke” and “could not be more regretful for that mistake. Stone was also dropped from the French Christian Dior fashion house from its ads airing in China. Poor Stone is still in the doghouse and even the Shanghai International Film Festival said that she was not welcome this year.
What Stone did was very stupid but come on a billion dollars? Why can’t they just laugh at how dumb she is like everyone else does?
