John Mayer to be Simpson/Wentz Baby Godfather

When your first options for Godparents consist of Creepy Papa Joe and Jessica Simpson I too would hand my baby over to a pack of wolves or John Mayer.
Mayer and Wentz are closet pals and blog about how great they think they are. The two also did a cover of “Beat It” together and have been bosom buddies ever since.
“Pete and John have been spending a lot of time together lately and they get on so well,” says a source.
“They are firm friends. John gets a bad rap and is always portrayed as a bad boy but he’s got a heart of gold. Pete and Ashlee know that and they think he would make a great godparent.”
Of course the fact that John nailed Jessica and left her broken hearted is an obstacle. Ashlee Simpson is at least sensitive enough to be wary of Jessica’s bitter feelings. Ashlee and Pete are hesitant to officially ask John Mayer to be the new queen of the emo’s godfather, but it is going to happen according to reports. It if just a matter of time. Baby Wentz is due in October.
