Vivienne Westwood Hated Sex and the City Movie
I am a Vivienne Westwood fan, who isn’t? She is responsible for the Sex Pistol’s totally hot punk fashion movement. I am also a “Sex and the City” fan. Patricia Fields also garners my admiration. Together they are a trifecta of a perfect evening. (Maybe throw in a bottle of Boones Farm and you have perfection.) But recently Viv, who has a wedding gown featured in the film, has busted out her claws and tore into the lack of “cutting edge fashion” in the film.
“I thought ‘Sex and the City’ was supposed to be about cutting-edge fashion and there was nothing remotely memorable or interesting about what I saw. I went to the premiere and left after 10 minutes.”
Not to be a total bitch and call out Viv…but how could she have a true say on what she saw if she only saw 10 minutes of the film? Sarah Jessica Parker alone wore a total of 81 outfits in the film. Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis wore a combined 200 outfits. In the first 10 minutes she could have only seen 10-15 styles.
I know, I know. I too fear a gay mafia uprising when questioning the judgment of Vivienne. My humble and dear apologies. On a side note, I wonder if Debra Messing looks at this photo and thinks it is like looking into a crystal ball that shows the future.
