Vanessa Paradis hit one out of two. She did not marry long time love and father of her two children, Johnny Depp. But, she did take the fall 2008 Miu Miu collection from Kristen Dunst. Vanessa was the former face of Channel but jumped ship to model for Prada. Kristen was slated to be the face of Prada and got the boot to make way for Paradis. This year’s fashions are inspired by a scuba suit. Sounds comfy?

Prada chose the former Channel face because of her “powerful independence” and “overlapping qualities of fragility and feminine strength.”

This is quite a departure from the darker more intense campaign modeled by Kirsten Dunst we were informed. Vanessa’s shoot was in LA and done by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. (Above is Vanessa Paradis’ photo for Miu Miu and below are Kirsten Dunst’s photos of her campaign.)

Let me get this right Vanessa Paradis who looks like she dresses for Halloween all year long has the warm and fuzzy shoot? While Kristen Dunst who looks like a milk maid come to life is the dark and intense one? Did I miss something here?
