Tim Russert Died of Heart Attack, Tribute Video
By Karen | June 16, 2008
NBC is still reeling from the loss of Tim Russert last Friday the 13th. Russert died of a massive heart attack. He was well known as a true family man and legendary host of Meet The Press. Russet was a huge Bruce Springsteen fan going to as many concerts as he could. The Boss took time out of his concert to mention how much he would miss Tim and what a wonderful friend he was. How cool is that. Here we all thought Tim was just another talking head, but there was a lot more to him.
Newspaper columnist and television commentator Mike Barnicle, a good friend since the 1980s remembers Tim: “He was just a sweetheart of a guy. It’s that simple.” Barnicle’s youngest son, Timothy, is named for Russert, he also served as Timothy’s godfather.
We here at Allie is Wired wish to send to the Russert family our heartfelt sympathy. Russert will be missed by his friends and family, but maybe not so much by those he made squirm. If you came on his show you had better be ready to face the truth and own up to it.
