Heath Ledger Scholarship Fund
Heath Ledger’s death shocked and bewildered the entire world. But at the Australians in Film 2008 Breakthrough Awards he was on everyone’s mind. The director Gregor Jordan, who worked with Ledger in the 1999 film Two Hands, announced the Heath Ledger Scholarship Fund aimed at helping Australian actors.
“It’s going to involve a number of benefactors and there’s been a lot of interest already,” director Gregor Jordan explained. “I was talking to Michelle Williams, his partner and the mother of his child, and Michelle has said she would be very proud and happy to be the first benefactor.”
Meanwhile, Calvin Klein Inc. was to launch its new perfume Secret Obession at the Broome Street building where Heath Ledger died. But just before the party was due to start it was moved. Reps for the company e-mailed everyone telling them. One guest complained about “bright lighting, no music and angry guests.” He continued by saying that the Barolo on West Broadway was a “mess”.
“People said the landlord of Heath’s building had a problem, but it may have been because the Klein people thought it was in such bad taste to have it there,” said an insider.
Come on. Lets give the guy a little respect.
