David Archuleta Signs Deal, Crazy Dad Still Crazy
By Karen | June 6, 2008
David Archuleta who came in second place on American Idol has signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records. David is expected to release his first album later this year. Jeff Archuleta daddy to David is meesing up his kids career again. David had planned a gigantic benefit concert in Utah to thank everyone for their support. But with Daddy Jeff at the helm this sunk like all things he gets his sticky paws on. Idol execs say that the show is a big NO! Idol has control of the contestants for months after the final AI show.
“They’re just going to reschedule the event for a later time,” Jeff Archuleta told the Salt Lake Tribune. “When all the minds met, everyone concluded this wouldn’t work out for this particular weekend, and they just want to reschedule it for toward the middle or the end of the [American Idols Live! summer] tour.”
Disney is hot to get David for a cameo role on High School Musical 3. But he is AI’s little puppy until September. David has an ironclad contract locking the contestants out from anything “un-Idol”. This may work to David’s benefit. Dave needs to realize that having your parental unit as your manager is a very BAD idea. Look at Joe Simpson or Jamie Spears. Just think it over David and save yourself a lot of trouble later. Hey I’m just sayin.

Hey Karen, you know when I first saw the title of your article, I got angry immediately because I thought that you are one of those bad media who are just trying to stir some things up just so they could write about anything. But after I read this full article, I realized that you may not be a David Archuleta hater after all. As I see it, I think you are just concern on Little David’s career which is the same way I feel. I am a hardcore David Archuleta fan but I think you made some sense here. I’m all for David but not for his dad. I mean, he is really a good dad and he’s just protecting his son, but I think seeing that the media have been really rough on him and his son, he should have thought of backing off a little bit just for the love of his son. The one suffering here is David I believe. He doesn’t want to hear his dad being bashed like that all the time. I mean, he can give David all the support but what I’m just saying is he has to really just give the full spotlight to his son and stop sharing his son’s fame. That would be a really cool support if he could do that. Being said that, I don’t believe that he is a stage dad, but then again, since the media is being hard on him and his son, he might as well think of backing off a little bit. Like you Karen, I’m just saying.

Hey this is so childish that everytime an article comes out about David’s dad or mom that the media puts them as such terrible parents. These parents must be pretty correct in what they have done so far to help produce such a wonderful boy as David appears to be. This kid has his eggs in a row and is ready to do this correctly–why because he has had such good upbringing and has been brought up as a Christian. The media is not thinking when it continues to badger these parents; they need to work with them–they will be much more in looking toward the good of their child than the music industry–The music industry has destroyed many lives with only the aspect of more and more profit as they use talent for that extent. I have taught school for many years and generally you know that a parent is looking out for the good of their child–David realizes this–why can’t you in the media recognize this.–Kentucky fan
