Sandra Bullock Survives Head on Car Crash with Drunk Driver

America’s Sweetheart Sandra Bullock and hubby Jesse James were hit head on by a drunk driver. Bullock, currently filming “The Proposal” in Massachusetts, was being driven in a private car with hunky hubby James of TV’s Monster Garage around 9:50 when a drunk crossed the center line and smacked into their front end. Bullock was “gracious” and asked whether the driver was injured.
“They were shaken up, needless to say,” said Gloucester Police Lt. Gerry Cook. “But they were fine – he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn’t need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them.”
Both refused medical attention and walked away from the accident. The drunken driver of the Subaru was Lucille Gatchell 64; was given a field sobriety test by officers and blew an amazing .20. That is two and a half times the legal limit. She was arrested for DUI but then released on her own recognizance. Gatchell’s arraignment is Tuesday.
Bullock is a lot nicer than I would be if some old drunk tried to kill me. Grace under pressure is wonderful to have and Sandy is an example. Just goes to show you no one is safe from a drunk driver. Thank heavens no one was hurt.
