Project Runway Lawsuit ….Poor Heidi Klum

Project Runway Lawsuit ….Poor Heidi Klum

NBC is a bit more clever than we give them credit for. The parent company of Bravo is about to loose one of its stars. Project Runway is set to make a move to Lifetime. The network has a done deal for the transfer, but NBC is jumping on the legal rights train and fighting for the jewel in their crown. The final move is scheduled to happen in November.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in state court in Manhattan, NBC accused the owner of “Project Runway,” the Weinstein Company, of violating its rights by making the deal with Lifetime.

The suit asserts Harvey Weinstein, the chief executive of the Weinstein Company, promised NBC that it would have an opportunity to match any offer to the rights of “Project Runway” and that instead, Mr. Weinstein concluded a deal with Lifetime on Feb. 7, even though he continued to negotiate with NBC Universal for two more months.

It would be refreshing to get something on the Lifetime network other than movies about women who have been beaten into submission only to find their inner She-Ra and end up at Harvard while simultaneously ridding the world of cheating husbands. Although it is home of Golden Girl reruns. Holla at my Golden Ladies!!!

What Others Said:

  • D-Listed: “Heidi Klum and Bea Arthur make a glamorous team. However, the Golden Girls is moving off of Lifetime and shuffling off the Hallmark Channel. WTF?! Way to crush my dreams. Heidi Klum just couldn’t stand their heat.”
